Now it's no longer a secret - Kaveret will reunite to do one concert on April 30th 1998, Israel's 50th independence day. Kaveret will celebrate their 25th anniversary as well.
The reunion was probably initiated by Meir Fenigstein. The producer is Yehuda Talit, who produced their last two reunions In 1984 and 1990. The concert will probably take place in the Yarkon Park.

Sources informed that the reunion concert has no final date and sponsor, and therefor the members have not yet given their full approval. Also, Efraim Shamir said on the show 'Bla Bla' that nothing is set, and that the members are still considering the idea.

In an interview to 'Ha'Aretz' newspaper on 16/01/98 Alon Oleartchik said that Kaveret will make one concert around Israel's independence day. He added that Kaveret will record two new songs.

Kaveret has recorded two new songs. One of them, named 'Zocher Lo Zocher' will be broadcasted on May 1st in Galey Tzahal radio station, during 'Mitz'ad 50 HaShana'. The lyrics were written by Danny Sanderson, Alon Oleartchik and Meir Fenigstein, and it was composed by Danny Sanderson and Efraim Shamir. The two songs won't be issued on CD.

Kaveret's second new song, named 'Mehapes Derech Hazara' will be broadcasted on May 13th on the radio. The lyrics were written by Danny Sanderson, Alon Oleartchik, Efraim Shamir & Gidi Gov, and it was composed by Danny Sanderson, Alon Oleartchik and Efraim Shamir. The two songs won't be issued on CD. Kaveret will perform about 35-40 songs, some of them unplugged. Some classic songs will be presented in different arrangements and some material will be performed for the first time since Kaveret disbanded.
Additional drumming will be done by Tal Bergman.

The reunion concert in Ganey Yehoshu'a, Park HaYarkon, will begin at 18:30, with Ivri Leader and HaZvuvim. Kaveret will get on stage at 20:30.
The producers are expecting 40,000 people to attend the concert.

Yesterday, on Monday, May 25th, Kaveret performed infront of 300-400 people in Hangar #11 in Yafo. My sources claim the performance was excellent!
